Global AI Adoption

When AI is adopted, who gains agency and who loses it? This dashboard tracks the answer across 115 countries, updated with each Anthropic Economic Index release.

The AI Matrix

AI adoption is not one thing. A country can have widespread access to AI tools and still use them passively. Another can have limited access but high-quality engagement. The AI Matrix separates these two dimensions to show what adoption headlines miss.

Each dot is a country. The horizontal axis measures access: how many people per capita are using Claude. The vertical axis measures agency: whether those people co-create with AI or just issue commands. Bigger dots mean larger populations. Press play to watch countries shift between releases.

The early trend: agency is rising faster than access. Between September 2025 and March 2026, mean agency scores climbed 25% while per-capita access barely moved. The gap between who has AI and who uses it well is closing. The gap between who has AI and who doesn't is not.
